Hongkongers gathered to mourn for Chow Tsz Lok


Netizens initiated a gathering in Chater Garden, Central at 12:30 PM to pay respect for Chow Tsz Lok, who passed away this mothing. He died after a fall, which turned out to be fatal, on the morning of November 4 during a police operation in Tseung Kwan O.

Around 100 people participated and the majority of the participants wore face masks. Songs were played at the scene and black ribbons were distributed to participants. People held slogans such as “Reveal the truth, let justice be done.” and chanted “An eye for an eye”, “Disband the police force.” etc.

The crowd started marching from Queens Road and the police raised the yellow flag warning the crowd they are currently participating in an unlawful assembly. They also claimed people in masks are violating the anti-mask law. As the rally started, members from League of Social Democrats led the participants for a moment of silence to mourn for Chow and encouraged people to join the march with white flowers.

Chow’s schoolmates also mourned his pass away on campus.

At 13:36, students read out their statement, condemning the university authorities’ indifference and refusal to condemn police brutality as of this point.【GM37】
