Hong Kong People Voice Support for Gun-wounded Student

Hong Kong people initiated demonstrations throughout Hong Kong in support of the student who was shot yesterday.

Nearly 2000 citizens gathered in Sha Tsui Road Playground at 8 p.m., local time, in support of the 18-year-old male student being shot in the left chest by the police yesterday. Citizen held banner with a slogan like “stop shooting our children!”, turned on their smartphones’ torches, and yelled, “Dismiss the police force, Now!” Some folded paper cranes at the center of the playground, and used them to form a heart shape and the words  “Hongkongers, Add oil!”. They also yelled “Kin Jai Ga Yau!”, cheering for the hospitalized boy Tsang Chi Kin to get well soon.

In Tsuen Wan Sha Tsui Road Playground, over a thousand Hong Kong citizens have gathered. Some began to dismantle fences and place them as roadblocks. Calls were made to tuck in shirts to prevent police infiltrators. (they carry guns in their waists).

Many traffic was stopped, such as at Lung Cheung Road in Wong Tai Sin, as well as Hennessey Road in Causeway Bay. Crowds from another rally in Shatin New Town Plaza marched towards Tai Wai.
